Children’s Director - April Allen
When April was very young, she lived in the suburbs and after turning 12, her family moved to a small farm in Lawtons, NY. They raised a variety of animals: beef cows, goats, sheep, pigs, chickens etc. and she worked on a neighbor’s farm bailing hay in the summer. She also had a horse until she started college and loves riding to this day.
After earning her bachelors degree in Psychology at SUNY Fredonia, she worked at Heritage Center for 11 years in their residential department, first as direct care staff, then program planner, then finally manager of one of the houses. She married her best friend, Doug Allen, in 1992 and have three beautiful children. After her second child was born, she left Heritage Center and became a stay to home mom while providing child care in her home to friends. During that time, she became very involved in Children's Ministry and went back to school to work on a Degree in Ministry from Elim Bible Institute.
She is very excited to be the Director of Children's Ministries at Fellowship Wesleyan Church and looks forward to what God has in store for the children we serve.
