Enrollment for the 2019-2020 School Year
Any child regardless of race, color or religion who will be 3 or 4 years old prior to December 1st is eligible for enrollment in the Fellowship Wesleyan Preschool. To register your child you must return a completed registration form and the registration fee. Upon receipt of the above your child’s name will be placed on our enrollment list. The yearly registration fee of $50.00 per family is non-refundable. The first tuition payment will be due by May 15th. It will also be non-refundable unless a child is available to fill the space your child is vacating.
We appreciate you choosing us as your preschool. We understand that there are many options and we feel that we offer a program that prepares children for Kindergarten as well as teaches them important values from the Bible. If you need to pull your registration, please be notify preschool no later than August 1, 2019. Your courtesy is appreciated as we need to know our enrollment numbers by August 1, 2019 to prepare for the upcoming year.
- 3 year olds – Tuesday and Thursday mornings – $100.00/month
- 3 year olds – Wednesday and Friday mornings – $100.00/month
- 4 year olds – Monday, Wednesday, Friday mornings – $135.00/month
* In order for a class session to be held, there needs to be 10 or more children registered for the class. If there is not, the class will be canceled and your child will be offered a spot on a different day.
** Pending there is enough interest, there will be an extra morning for the 3’s (Mondays) and for the 4’s (Thursday). These sessions will be offered if there are 10 or more children enrolled per session by June 1, 2019.
- 3 year olds – Three mornings – $135.00/month
- 4 year olds – Four mornings – $180.00/month
*Please Note that the prices for these sessions go into effect on January 16, 2019 and apply to the 2019-2020 school year only.
Drop off and pick-up time
Morning sessions begin at 9:30 A.M. and end at 12:00 P.M. Teachers are preparing before school and are cleaning up afterwards. Please be considerate of these times. If someone other than your child’s usual driver will be picking him/her up please notify your child’s teacher in writing of the change.
We follow the West Seneca Central School District calendar. These are made available by the school district in September. When weather conditions close the West Seneca Central School District, Fellowship Wesleyan Preschool will also be closed.
The Fellowship Wesleyan Preschool is a non-profit institution. We operate on a very close budget and because we have certain fixed expenses, we must have a stable income. When you register your child, you agree to pay the year’s tuition. The first tuition payment is due by May 15th (see enrollment section). You may choose to pay the remainder of the yearly tuition in one of two ways:
- You may pay in 8 equal monthly installments, each installment being due by the 5th of the month (September through April).
- You may pay in 2 equal semester installments, one installment being due on the 1st class day in September and the other on the 1st class day in January.
Tuition is to be paid to your child’s teacher. All checks are to be made payable to: Fellowship Wesleyan Church. Please include the payment coupon along with your payment. A late fee of $10.00 will be assessed for payments made after the 10th day of the month. If your tuition check is returned due to insufficient funds, you will be expected to pay the bank fee and to make future payments in cash or with a money order. Please note that after your child has attended preschool for 3 days tuition is not refundable and you are under contract to continue to pay tuition throughout the year.
Health and Safety
New York State Health law requires children entering pre-school to be adequately immunized against diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus (DPT), measles, mumps, rubella, polio, hepatitis, and have the Hib vaccine. Immunization forms must be signed by the child’s physician.
Children must be toilet trained in order to participate in our preschool program. This means the child must be able to urinate and put a bowel movement into the toilet. Modern disposable diapers are wonderfully absorbent, but a child who wears a Pull -Up to school and urinates in the Pull-Up during the day is not toilet trained. We understand that occasionally accidents do happen. In case they do we ask that parents keep a spare pair of socks, underpants and pants in their child’s bag or backpack. The children will be more comfortable changing into their own clothes.
For the children’s safety we ask that no toy guns or other toy weapons, whistles, mouth toys, or lip balm be brought to school.
The purpose of discipline within the pre-school is to help children develop self-control. They are learning to behave appropriately in situations with their peers, teachers and other adults.
Children find security in limits. They need to know what they can and cannot do in a given situation.
Teachers and other adults must be positive and consistent in teaching, guiding and enforcing the established limits. As children test the limits and find them to be consistent they can begin to develop their own system of self-control.
In disciplining we talk to the children about the consequences of their actions, their feelings and the feelings of others. Removal from the group is used only as a means of helping the child gain control. The child remains in the classroom. Under no circumstances is corporal punishment or verbal abuse used.
We communicate with and involve the parents in every situation where their child cannot behave age appropriately in a group setting.
When dressing your child for pre-school please keep in mind our active day. We may be painting, pasting, jumping, crawling, dancing etc. Your child will be most comfortable in play clothes and sneakers. “Onesies”, bib overalls, one-piece jump suits, belts and pants with difficult zippers and snaps are strongly discouraged.
The school is open to parents at all times. Each parent (can be father, mother, or grandparent) will be scheduled to attend at least two school sessions during each semester to observe and participate in their child’s activities. We ask that you provide a snack and drink for the class on your day. We ask that no other children come with you. This is your preschooler’s special day.
The children’s snacks should be simple and nutritious, but do not be afraid to make them interesting. The children will be sampling their own cooking during the year and we have found preschoolers, on the whole, to be an adventurous bunch. If a child is found to have an allergy to a particular food or foods, all parents of that child’s classmates will be made aware of the allergy so that they can plan their snack day accordingly. In the case of severe food allergy, the allergic child’s parent will be responsible for checking snacks and signing a permission form daily.
Some suggestions for fun/healthy snacks:
- crackers – with spreads
- fresh fruit and dip
- baggies of snack mix
- milk and juices
- pretzels and dip
- cheese cubes
- pudding or yogurt
- bagels and spreads
- veggies and dip
Birthdays are special times, which we celebrate during snack period. Feel free to participate with us the day we celebrate your child’s birthday. Summer birthdays are equally important and will be celebrated during the month of May. You are welcome to celebrate your child’s birthday with an “un-healthy” snack such as Skippy cups, brownies, rice krispie treats, and cookies. Cupcakes are strongly discouraged as they are very messy to eat.
We will be taking field trips each month throughout the school year. For most trips we will need parent drivers. Parents of children less than four years old will need to provide a car seat for their child.
